L. Pearl McNeely Keelin, 89, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at Owensboro Medical Health System.

Born Dec. 28, 1922, in Hopkins County, a daughter of the late Edna and Harvey Crowder Fox, she was a former member of Gospel Temple Church in Princeton and a member of Southside Wesleyan Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She retired after 20 years of employment with the Owensboro School System and was previously employed as a nurse’s aide at Caldwell County Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Keelin on Sept. 26, 2005; two sisters, Opal Wright and Mary Carnahan; and a brother, Clinton Fox.

Survivors include two sons, Johnnie McNeely of Owensboro and Michael McNeely of Wilmore; eight grandchildren, Bobby Tapp, Tammy McNeely, Shawn Mc Neely, Tracy Ghayoumi, Shane McNeely, Brandon McNeely, Zakary McNeely and Cameron McNeely; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sarah Frances Morris of Owensboro and Edna Ruth Morris of Indianapolis, Ind.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro.

Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
