Elinor Pekarek, 93, of Princeton, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at 4:19 p.m. at her home, following a long illness.
Born Nov. 7, 1919, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Paul John and Olive H. O’Brien McGervey, she was a homemaker and retired substitute teacher. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Friends of the Library and Princeton Art Guild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward George Pekarek; and a daughter, Kathleen Spiewak.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dr. Edward Jr. and Patricia Pekarek of Willow Springs, N.C., and Thomas Pekarek of North Olmsted, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Elizabeth Pekarek and Alan McGinigle of Pittsboro, N.C.; four grandchildren, Edward Pekarek III, Deborah Weaver, Mike Pekarek and Jason Spiewak; and three great-grandchildren, Anna Weaver, Ethan Weaver and Ryan Spiewak.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Shaiju Thomas officiating.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. (Princeton, Ky.)
