Norvell McKinney, 86, of Princeton, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at 5:55 p.m. at Western Kentucky Veterans’ Center at Hanson, following a long illness.

Born April 8, 1926, in Lyon County, a son of the late Emmett and Ida Bell Stone McKinney, he was a World War II Army veteran, member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church and was a retired machine operator at Airco Alloys and Carbide.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gurtha May Sisk McKinney; a son, Steve McKinney; two brothers, Noble McKinney and Tasco McKinney; and two sisters, Opal McKinney and Dora McKinney.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Joan McKinney of Campbellsville; and two granddaughters, Calen McKinney and Celeste Rustin; and a great-grandson, Jerrel McKinney.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with Chaplain Sam Beeny officiating, assisted by the Rev. J.R. Bruce.

Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lyon County.
