Elsie C. (Molzen) Baumgartner, 97, died Saturday (May 19, 2001) at Kansas Christian Home.
She was born Feb. 26, 1904, to C.F. and Clara J. (Steele) Molzen in Newton. They preceded her in death. She married Clarence Willard Baumgartner Aug. 17, 1925, in rural Harvey County. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1971.
She was a member of East Side United Methodist Church. She worked at Axtell Clinic in Newton for three years and at Hertzler Clinic in Halstead as a bookkeeper and insurance processor for 22 years. She also was a farming wife and homemaker for 67 years. Some of her special interests included flower and vegetable gardening, making ceramics and sewing clothes for the whole family. She had been a member of The Grange Organization in Harvey County for more than 50 years.
Survivors include: a son, Dallice W. Baumgartner of Newton; a daughter, Bonnie Schroeder of Newton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. noon Tuesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at East Side United Methodist Church with Pastor J. Ray Swearingen.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with East Side United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
