Memorial services for 47-year-old John Charles Reaney of Columbus Junction, Iowa, were held at 10 am Saturday, March 25, 2000 at the Columbus Junction United MEthodist Church. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date.
Services were under the direction of Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction.
John died Tuesday, March 21, at his residence after a short illness. There was no visitation.
A general memorial has been established at the funeral home. John Charles Reaney was born May 6, 1952 in Iowa City, a son of Robert and Margaret Hanft Reaney. He graduated from Columbus Community High School and then attended Iowa Wesleyan for one year. John had worked as a welder and was a life-long resident of the area. John was a member of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church, a past assistant Scout Master, and past member of the Jaycees. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion.
John is survived by his mother, Margaret Reaney, Iowa City, and a sister, Ruth Reaney Cornick, also of Iowa City, and a nephew and niece, Jade and Kesha Cornick of Iowa City.
He was preceded in death by his father.
