I'm looking for descendants of the following people, who came from Denmark to Iowa:
Mads C. Nielsen (1869, Aalborg-1929 Shelby, IA).
Came to Iowa, 1890; Married Anna Maria Johansen in 1902. Survived by wife; stepson, Soren Johansen; children Louis, Charles, Marie and Nina and grandchildren Donald Johansen and Dorothy Ann Nielsen.
Christian (Chris) Nelson (1875, Aalborg-1961 Harlan, IA).
Came to IA about 1892. Married 1) Nellie Gillette in Des Moines, 1912. Married 2) Bessie Brown in Papillon, NE, 1933. Survived by wife, son Gaillard J. Nelson and grandson, Fred. Also various step grandchildren and
Niels Peter (N.P "Pete") Nelson (1878, Aalborg-1936, Harlan, IA). He was my grandfather and had only one
child, my mother.
Sorine (Sorena) Kristine Nielsen (1882, Aalborg-1960, Spirit Lake, IA. Came to Iowa in 1901. Married Theodore Madsen. He had 3 children by a previous marriage. He died in 1959. Both were survived by his daughter, Mrs.
V.H. (Harold) Worrell of Peoria, IL.
Ottoline Nielsen (1885, Aalborg-?, IA. May have married a Wlliam Leucke.
I would enjoy hearing from any living descendants. I have been researching these families for about three years and have information from researchers in Denmark, who may have found children of the two
older siblings, Gregers and Maren, who remained in Denmark. I would be happy to exchange information.
