Eva V. Cone (born c. 1871) was the daughter of Marian Flanders (1844 VT – 1939 IA; http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=10... ) and her first husband Adalbert E. Cone (4/5/1849 Madison WI – 1/22/1925 Sioux City IA; https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=8... ) Her mother remarried to John J. Thomas (9/22/1834 VA – 4/24/1904 Adams county IA; http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=14... ) when Eva was still very young. I do not know the full DOB of Eva or when she died and where she was buried.

I know that Eva Cone was married to a Mr. Getty, and she was still alive in 1952 per the obit of half-sister Etta Yarrington. On this delayed birth record for her half-brother George Thomas: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q24X-9MYH clicking on the image, you see it was signed by Eva Getty in 1953 so it looks like she was at least still alive at that time. I found that Eva Cone (born c. 1872 IA) first got married to a John G. Martin (born c. 1859 Birmingham IA to Joseph Martin and Sarah Burns) on 7/5/1888 in Corning IA: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XJ83-S6H and she was very young when she married him! She had several children with John Martin (and her middle name would be Viola and John's would be Gilbert), including a daughter born 5/30/1889 Corning IA: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XVDR-DLC Zora born c. 1891: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XJ8D-L41 John born 8/12/1898 Griswold IA: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q246-MLXB Adalbert born 11/10/1900 IA: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q246-9FVZ who died 11/27/1973 in Sioux City IA: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q2QV-5HS1 Louis born c. 1903: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QJDS-TVJG Harriet born 3/19/1908 Cass township IA: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q24X-C4C7 Roena Martin born 11/22/1915 Quincy township IA: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V46Q-YPT who died a few weeks later in Corning IA: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XVHP-8K9

So that led me to finding the family in Griswold IA in 1900, with parents John Martin (born Sep 1857 IA) and Eva (born May 1872 IA), and children Stella (May 1889 IA), Zora (Aug 1892 IA), Marion (born Sep 1895 IA), and John (born Aug 1898 IA): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M924-DDQ and then in Corning IA in 1910, with parents John (born c. 1857 IA) and Eva (born c. 1872 IA), and children Fora (born c. 1892 IA), Marian (born c. 1896 IA), John (born c. 1899 IA), Adalbert (born c. 1901 IA), Corie (born c. 1904 IA), and Harriet (born c. 1908 IA): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MLBB-GWS and I also see them in Sioux City IA in 1920, with parents John (born c. 1857 IA) and Eva (born c. 1878 IA), and children John (born c. 1899 IA), Cone (born c. 1904 IA), and Harriett (born c. 1909 IA): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MD9S-Y1X I would say that naming two of her kids after her parents Adalbert and Marian is a nice touch, and helps prove that she is the right Eva.

This must be a memorial for her first husband John Gilbert Martin (9/11/1957 Birmingham IA – 7/8/1922 Sioux City IA): https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/42604172/john-gilbert-ma... and he is buried with his daughter Rebecca from his first marriage. This is his obit: https://content.invisioncic.com/r260558/monthly_2018_08/1798... So we did not see her with John in the 1930 census because John died in 1922. Her father Adalbert died in 1925, and his obit was already calling her Mrs. Eva Getty of Sioux City IA, so she had already remarried by then. We also know she was still living in 1952 per the obit of her sister, and probably still alive in 1953-1954 per my note above about her brother George. So here we go, in Sioux City in the 1925 IA state census, we Eva V Getty (born c. 1871 IA) listed as married but no husband on the page, with "adopted daughter" Harriet Martin (born c. 1908) and sons Robert Getty (born c. 1917) and Elwin Getty (born c. 1920): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QKQ4-CNN1 and, if you look at the image and click two pages back, you have her spouse listed as James Getty!: https://content.invisioncic.com/r260558/monthly_2018_08/2435... It says that James was born in IL but does not give an age for him, and I have no further information about James, and have not seen then in the 1930 or 1940 census.

Now, the trick will be matching an Eva Getty to her children, to find out when she died and where she is buried.
