Surnames: Stanton, DeWeese, Miller, Gladden
Michael Edward Stanton (Aug 15,1842) joined for duty in the Civil War on Sept 20, 1861 in Warrick County, Indiana. After the war he married Mary Parley Deweese on June 18, 1868, married by Squire Asbery Brown. They had children: John Stanton Jan 5,1870; Alice Belle Stanton Dec 8,1872; Michael Stanton,Jr.Oct.15,1874; Rufus Stanton Nov 15,1876; Flora Stanton April 26,1880; Clarence Stanton, Feb.23,1882; Jona Stanton, Feb 14, 1885; Pearl Stanton Mar 3, 1889. (All information is from his pension application Jan 8, 1898)

I descend through Alice Belle Stanton(d Aug 29, 1934) who married(?) Ulysis Alexander Miller(Oct13,1870-1947), they had three children, Lilian Helen, William Robert, and James Edward F. Miller. She was his 2nd wife. (First wife was Ann Garret-children Clida ans Estele)

Ulysis parents were also in Warrick, I believe they are Matilda Gladden? and James Henry Miller, possibly from Penn. I have been trying to find out something about them. Other children were George, Charles and Mary. The four children were born in either Lynnville or Gentryville.

I believe Michael Stanton and wife Mary Deweese, Ulysis Miller and wife Alice Stanton, are all buried in Maple Grove Cem, Boonville. I am also trying to find Stantons birghplace and parents. The 1850 Census in Anderson Township Warrick Co. lists a Mary Stanton from Ireland with son Michael who was 5. This is the wrong age. Unless the census is wrong, or unless Michael used his older brothers age to join the army!! I would appreciate any imput.
