My Dad has unearthed a document that, I don't believe belongs to my own family, but I've figured out the names within the document.
In the document, at least the first of it says,
This indenture made and ____ into this 12th day of November 1851 between Levi Ridgeway and Lavina Ridgeway his wife of Sullivan county state of Indiana of the...
it gets a little fuzzy. It also mentions a John Peacock, which I believe is Lavina Ridgeway's brother Jonathan Dean Peacock. Lavina's maiden name is Peacock. Apparently she is the daughter of Jacob Peacock. Levi's middle name is Brashears I believe.
On Findagrave I've found a Levi and Lavina Ridgway buried in Sullivan County in Ebenezer Cemetery. In 1851, Lavina would still be living, but Levi passed away in 1832 (according to Findagrave). There is no tombstone photo for him, but there is for her.
My question is--who exactly are these people? What exactly is this document?
According to my Dad, his brother lived in Bullitt County, Kentucky, which apparently the Peacock's/and maybe the Ridgway's too, hail from. He believes his brother might have swiped this from someone, because of the old date on it and whatnot (this obviously happening years ago.)
Can anyone unearth anything for me? Please and thank you!
