I'm searching for onfo on my ancestor who lived in Blackford, Jay and Wells Co., IN. Michael Burns emmigrated from IRE., c.1848. He married Emily Fitgerald. Their children were John, Mary (died at sea), Emily (died in childhood),and Joseph. Their son, Joseph, of poss. Blackford, and of Jay county, was married to Ann McCaffrey, daughter of James McCaffrey, of Jay Co. James McCaffrey was a prosperous farmer. Mike Burns was also as well as an auctioneer, and together they helped found the first Catholic church in Jay Co. Mike's son Joseph,who was a farmer, teacher, lawyer and then district attorney and judge, and his wife Ann McCaffrey had John, William, James, Michael "Tilden", Joseph, Minta "Millie", Patrick Gratton, Elizabeth "Bessie", Anne and Felix. Patrick Gratton married Clara Blanche Greenfield, dau. of Charles Greenfield and Minnie Guess. They had 14 children, 12 of whom survived to adulthood. They lived in Wells co. Can you help?
