Not related, just trying to help. I believe he was the son of Fred Offholter and Elizabeth Burki who married in Adams county on 6 Nov 1886, source is book E, page 319. He listed his parents as Fritz and Maria and she listed her parents as John and E, source is book 9, page 106. Not unusual for the difference in spelling in German names of the time, happened in my own family. In the 1900 census the family was in Adams county, Wabash township, Dist 13, page 16B, and was headed by Fred Affolder, 44, born Sep 1855, married 13 years, a farmer, born in Ind, both parents in Germany, and included his wife Elizabeth, 34, Feb 1866, married 13 years, mother of 7 all still living, born in Germany as were both parents, immigated in 1873, - his son Henry, 12, Aug 1887, - his son Martin, 11, Sep 1889, - his son Edwin, 9, Feb 1899 (Obvious error), - his daughter Selma, 7, Nov 1892, - his son William, 5, Apr 1894, - his son Charles, 3, Mar 1897, and his son Clarence, 9/12, Sep 1899 (Tilman ?). All children born in Ind. In the 1910 census for Adams county, Wabash township, Dist 12, page 12A, the family was again headed by Fred Affolder, 54, married 1 time for 24 years, a farmer, born in Ind, both parents in Swiss-German, and included his wife Elizabeth, married 1 time for 24 years, mother of 9 of which 8 were still living, born in Swiss-German as were both parents, - his son Edwin, 20, a laborer doing odd jobs, - his daughter Selma, 17, - his son William, 15, - his son Charles, 13, - his son Tilman, 10, - his son Elmer, 8, - and his grand-daughter Luella, 11/12. Again all children born in Ind. Hope this helps. Don
