As near as I can tell I am not related to the family described here. I have no other information on any of the people mentioned.

Information from the Civil War pension (WC 265-832) and military records of SIDNEY S. ANDERSON of South Pass (Cobden), Union Co IL, and Pomona, Jackson Co IL.

Sidney was born in Vienna, Johnson Co IL around 1829 and died near Pomona IL 29 Mar 1888. Enlisted 15 Aug 1862 at Jonesboro, Union Co IL, in Co A, 109th Ill Vol Inf. Also served in Co G, 109th Ill Vol Inf and Co E, 11th Ill Vol Inf. He was 5'5" tall, dark complected, with black eyes and black hair, occupation farmer. Was captured at Yazoo River, Mississippi, in Feb 1864 and imprisoned at Andersonville GA until paroled 10 Dec 1864. Discharged 14 Jul 1865 at Baton Rouge LA.

Married Delila Langley 23 Aug 1850, place not stated, by a Mr. Harris, justice of the peace. In her affidavit for a widow's pension Delila stated she had been married in Union Co IL in June 1849 to Chesterfield Langley, from whom she was divorced on 23 Apr 1850. E. E. Miller and Phil R. Lindsey, both of Pomona IL, witnessed her affidavit.
