I do find a Hattie Mathre, but not an Augusta. Hattie was married to Sewell Larson Mathre. Sewell was the son of Lars and Martha Mathre (maiden name Tegland). Lars was the second son of Sjur Larson Mathre and Guro Tungesvik and was born at Matre (I believe a farm or other property-I have a drawing of it) In Skaanevik, Norway in 1830. He came to Kendall County, Illinois and later moved to Grundy County Illinois (I assume with his parents who moved to these places. Sjur Larson Mathre and Guro Tungesvik came from Skaanevik in 1847 on the ship, Kong Sverre which departed from Bergen on May 11th 1847 and arrived in New York on June 24th. The Master was Captain Fischer.
Lars later moved to Story County, Iowa in 1892 after returning from visiting Norway. Lars died in 1894 of blood poisoning. Martha (Lars wife) died in 1917, they are both buried in the Story City Cemetary-Story County-Iowa.
Sewell died in 1942. I assume in the same county. His wife was Hattie Aamundson Mathre.
Sewell and Hattie had the following children:
Marville, wife: Gloria Hultunn
Martin William, wife unknown-had kides
Helen Sylvelin, husband: vincent keller
Henry Jerome, wife Nola Hausken
Martin Wilhelm , no wife-died young
The name Mathre was originally Matre.
I am related to Ingeri Larson Mathre-was Lars' sister.
