In the early morning hours of July 21, 2013, Randy Skidmore passed away peacefully in his sleep from complications resulting from type 1 Diabetes. Randy was born on May 27, 1969 in Malad, Idaho a son of Ron and Renelle Skidmore. He was the fourth of five children. He attended elementary school in Stone and graduated from Malad High School. He then attended Arizona Automotive Institute in Glendale, AZ. and graduated with honors in both the automotive and diesel programs. Randy loved sports. Football and wrestling were his favorites while in high school. His senior year, he placed 4th in the state wrestling championship and he with his teammates played for the 2A State football championship . His love for football stayed strong and you could find him watching college ball on Saturdays and then cheering for “his” Chicago Bears every Sunday. ESPN was his favorite TV station. Randy worked at Autoliv for about ten years, but in 2003 left to farm full time. He loved farming and was a perfectionist. His dedication and work ethic were unstoppable and his farm and cows were his life. His faithful companion, an Australian Sheppard named ‘Spook”, spent many hours with him on the motorcycle to go change the water, or in the front seat of the truck to check cows, or in the tractor to bale the hay. He couldn’t leave the house without ‘Spook”. His friends and neighbors would describe him as the most hard working person they have ever met. His family will miss his gruff voice but tender heart. Randy is survived by his parents; Ron and Renelle Skidmore of Stone; Siblings; Ron Dell (Diane) Skidmore of Stone; Tammy (Brad) Hoskins of Tremonton, Utah; Val (Jeanette) of Snowville, Utah; and Rhonda (Tod) Daniels of Malad. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews. In his memory and to honor him, dedicate one day of hard work to him. Funeral services will be held on Friday July 26, 2013 at 12 noon in the Curlew LDS Ward Chapel in Snowville. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the Horsley Funeral Home 132 W. 300 N. in Malad, and on Friday at the church from 10:30-11:45. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Horsley Funeral Home. You are invited to send condolences to www.horsleyfuneral  home.
