MALAD — Nora Williams Price passed away peacefully in her home in Malad, Idaho, on her 87th birthday, Dec. 8, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Nora was born on Dec. 8, 1925 to Arthur T. and Nora Harrison Williams of Malad, Idaho. She was the seventh of 10 children. She grew up in Deep Creek and attended school in Malad.

She married the love of her life, Edward Varlo Price, on June 13, 1942. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple on July 7, 1961. The couple lived in Texas and Oklahoma while Varlo served in the Army during World War II. After the war, they lived in Holbrook and Mackay, Idaho, where they worked on ranches. Later, they bought a place in Parma, Idaho, where they farmed and owned a dairy and freight business with Varlo’s parents, Ed and Blanche Price, for 20 years.

Then Varlo’s love of ranching led them to Darlington, Idaho, where they owned and operated a ranch for nearly 20 years. They retired and moved back to Malad in 1987. They were the parents of six children.

Nora is survived by five children, Louise Price of Malad, Jolene (Dan) Ackerman of Liberty Lake, Wash., Edward Blaine (JoAnn) Price of Malad, LaNora (Ralph) Clark of Portage, Utah, and Lewis Van (Teri) Price of Malad; also 31 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, June Jones of Dillon, Mont., Hanna Lou Williams, Darlene Neilsen and Barbara Bingham, all of Malad. She was preceded in death by her husband, Varlo, her daughter, Noni Sue Dowdle, one granddaughter, her parents, one brother and four sisters.
