Larry H. Harris came into the world July 1, 1938, in his Grandmother’s home on Williams Creek in Cleveland, Idaho, which is near Thatcher, Idaho. He loved fishing the creek and hunting on the mountains above their home. Larry learned to work hard milking cows and helping on the farm. Larry joined the National Guard Unit in Preston, Idaho before graduating from High School. When Larry and Sharen moved to Bear Lake he was transferred into the Army Reserve Unit in Montpelier, Idaho. He graduated from Grace High and then was hired by Union Pacific Railroad. One weekend he rode the train to his Aunt and Uncle’s home where he met Sharen Ward. More than a year later they were married in the Logan Temple on April 2, 1959. Larry and Sharen lived in the Bear Lake Valley where Larry worked for San Francisco Chemical Co. in the phosphate plant at Leefe, Wyo. The fall of 1968, the family moved to Hyrum, Utah, and still have their home in Hyrum. Larry worked at Miller’s Beef, LeGrande Johnson Construction Co. and Nucor Steel. Larry retired in 1994 at the age of 56. Larry and Sharen spent one winter in St. George, Utah, and 14 winters in the warm weather of Brenda, Ariz., which is near Quartzsite Ariz. Larry made many friends and enjoyed the Country Western Music Jam Sessions held in the RV Parks. The last four years Larry enjoyed the warm weather in Washington, Utah, which is near St. George. Larry enjoyed the home they lived in as well as the wonderful people he met in the Washington Fields Sixth Ward. Larry enjoyed living there so much it was hard to get him to come back to Hyrum for the three summer months. Larry is survived by his wife, Sharen W. Harris of Washington, Utah, and Hyrum. They were married for 54 years. Larry and Sharen have three sons, Lee and Kaye Lyn Harris of Millville, Utah, Ted and Susan Harris of Kaysville, Utah, and Rex Harris of Hyrum.
