Beth Choules Hampton, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on May 28, 2013, in Eagle, Idaho, at the age of 87, after a short but valiant battle with cancer. Beth was born in Fairview, Idaho, on October 31, 1925, to Alma and Leda Larsen Choules. She attended schools in Fairview and Preston, graduating from Preston High School in 1944. She then completed a two year course of study in accounting at Idaho State University.
She married Rex W. Hampton on July 15, 1947. They lived in Pocatello and Preston, before moving to Ogden, and eventually Sunset, where they resided for 50 years before moving to Eagle in 2009. They are the parents of three children.
Beth was employed in the Accounting Department at Hill Air Force Base for 25 years and retired in 1986.
She was an avid card player and loved all sports, especially bowling. She won many bowling trophies and tournaments. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Beth is survived by her children, Kathy Mumford (James), of Eagle, Vicki Neibaur (Willard), and Dan Hampton, both of Mesa, Arizona; seven grandchildren; 13 1/2 great grandchildren; her sister, Barbara Bauer of St. George, Utah; and her brother, Philip Choules of Boise. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex; sisters, Ann Lewis and Sandra Hall, and brother, Bill Choules.
Memorial services will be held at the Morris Hill Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Interment will be at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks for the loving care given to their mother by the staffs at Spring Creek Assisted Living and United Hospice. Services are under the direction of Relyea Funeral Chapel.
