PRESTON — On Jan. 9, 2013, this world got a little dimmer and the laughter got a little quieter. The light of our lives left this world due to injuries sustained in an automobile and train accident. Heber Lee Lewis, loving husband, father and grandfather, was born June 6, 1956, in Logan, Utah, to Lex and Dorree Lewis.

Lee lived his life to the fullest which included playing sports which later led to refereeing and umpiring. STARTING projects… He was an excellent cook which led to the fulfillment of one of his dreams opening and running Bubba Louie’s.

He graduated from Preston High School in 1975 and later attended college in Boise, Idaho. On Sept. 24, 1976, Lee married his high school sweetheart Diane Drury and together they were blessed with their four children, LeAnn, Laci, Bubba and Bailey. Lee had a huge heart and he truly possessed the spirit of Christmas by being Santa.

In the summertime he traded that red coat for black leather that may have made him look rough and gruff — but really he was a gentle giant. He loved to travel and spent many years riding his motorcycle along with “the gang.” He enjoyed all things outdoors: hunting, fishing and camping, especially with his family.

Lee is survived by his wife Diane of Preston; his children LeAnn, Laci (Jessie) Smith, Bubba (Kaylee) and Bailey, all of Preston; grandchildren Tori, Cage, Gaven, Seth, Dominic, Paisley, Riot and Oaklee, all of Preston; brother Todd of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister Traci (Doug) Doney of Boise, Idaho; parents-in-law Ardis and Tom Rowley of Preston; and brother-in-law JD (Sandy) Drury of Preston. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Dennis and grandparents.

Not many can say they’ve done everything, but in 56 years this man did.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Jan. 15, 2013, in the Preston 3rd Ward LDS chapel, 155 N. 200 West in Preston, with Bishop Jay McKenzie conducting. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 East in Preston, and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
