LAYTON — Chad Dale Clements, beloved son, father, brother and grandfather , passed away Monday, Sept. 10, 2012. Chad was born June 21, 1959, Father’s Day, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to parents Dale and Dani. He attended high school in Preston, graduating in 1977.

Chad served a two-year LDS mission in London, England, from 1978 to 1980. After his mission he went straight to work in Salt Lake City, Utah. He met his wife, Jill, in Salt Lake. They were married Nov. 13, 1981. They have four children, Daniel Chad, Matthew Warren, Martin Andrew and Heidi Jill. He was later blessed with another daughter, Cecilia Maria.

Chad lived in the Salt Lake City area for the rest of his life. He worked at the Marriott Food Services located at the airport where he did maintenance for all of the food services for the airplanes. He then worked for the owner of seven McDonald’s restaurants for 13 years, where he repaired kitchen equipment and did services and repairs on the buildings, inside and out.

After leaving McDonald’s he went to work for Taylor Freezer doing service work, traveling around Utah, Nevada, Wyoming and Idaho. He really enjoyed his job. He had a wonderful employer, who became a very special friend. He enjoyed his work, and he was very good at it. The Taylor Freezer customers would call and request Chad by name. He really enjoyed the customers and the social part of his work. He was hard working, loyal, dependable and very responsible.

Chad was a fun-loving guy. He liked telling jokes and making people laugh and feel better. He could make a friend anywhere. He would stop anywhere and start chatting with strangers as if they were old friends. He loved his entire family and was very family oriented. He loved spending time with his kids and his grand kids. He liked to take them out to eat and anything, just to be together.

Chad loved playing baseball, especially with his grandson. He loved being a grandpa, and his four grandchildren were his pride and joy. Chad was a giver. His heart was as big as his personality and just as tender. No one would ever need for anything if he knew about it and could help. He would give the less fortunate his last $10 to buy a meal. He loved sports, especially the Denver Broncos. He was a MAJOR Broncos fan and never missed a game. His passing leaves such a large hole in our hearts that can never be replaced or forgotten.

He is survived by his three sons, Dan (Danielle), Matt (Jamie) and Marty; two daughters, Heidi and Cecilia; parents, Dale Clements and Jim and Dani Daniel; and his four grandchildren. Chad was preceded in death by his stepmother Sandy Clements whom he loved and appreciated very much.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 East in Preston, Idaho. A gathering will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at Webb Funeral Home. Interment will take place in the Downey Idaho cemetery following services.
