Joseph Gale Hill 1945 ~ 2004 A Class Act Our much-loved friend, brother, son and uncle passed away Wednesday December 29, 2004 from a short battle with cancer at age 59. He was born May 18, 1945 in Preston, Idaho, raised in Ogden Utah, attended Weber High and Weber State University, but spent most of his adult life in Salt Lake City, Utah. Joe is very special person. There was never a soul that met Joe that wasn't taken by him. He had an incredible sense of compassion for others, impeccable taste and amazing culinary skills. Quality, care and class best described Joe as evidenced by his actions. He surrounded himself with countless and incredible friends. Many friendships lasted a lifetime, a true representation of Joe's sincere character. He most loved spending time with his friends Kent Viertel, lifelong friend Dave Glover, a friend since early childhood, traveling with his dear friend Wendy Thomas and dinner parties with Fred Nass. Joe had a very special place in his heart for his four-legged companions. Mitzie dog who preceded him in death in 1998 and Molli & Mikki dog who are still with us today. Joe had a very successful career as "Facilities and Associated Operations Manager" for the Utah State Tax Commission. His greatest accomplishment of many was the oversight and interior design coordination of the construction of the newest Utah State Tax Commission building. He always joked about how he loved to as he put it "putting our tax dollars to work" for us.

Joe is survived by his father Cecil G. Davis, brother Curtis G. Davis, sister in-law Lynn Davis, nephews Quinn and Trent Davis, special friend and partner Kent Viertel, his companions Molli and Mikki dog, and his many friends. Preceding him in death, his mother Imogene Davis and his companion Mitzie dog. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Joe's life to be held on Saturday January 22, 2005 at Mark & Judy Naccarato's home in Salt Lake City, Utah at 3:00 p.m. (5307 So. Hillsden Dr. 2920 East). Dress is casual but please bring your cherished memories, stories and photos to share with others.
