Soda Springs: Doris Bernice Stapelman Jensen, 74, of Soda Springs passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 peacefully with her family. She was born September 20, 1939 in Rupert, Idaho, to Lester and Marjorie Stapelman. She was raised in Rupert/Burley area and graduated from Minico High School. She married Gary Lovoy Jensen on June 4, 1957 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Heyburn, Clifton, Thatcher and had been in Soda Springs since 1973.

Doris was an active member in the LDS Church and served in many callings such as, Primary President, in the Scouting Program, Dance Directors and as the Relief Society Quilting Specialist for over 25 years. She also served on the Soda Springs School Board. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, tatting, other handwork and excelled at quilting.

Doris is survived by three sons, one daughter, and their spouses, Scott and Gwyn Jensen of Helena, MT, Mike and Valerie Jensen of Pocatello, ID, Wade and Wendy Jensen of Gillette, WY, Tamera and Jeremy Smuin of Pocatello, ID, and a daughter-in-law Deborah Jensen, of Pocatello, ID. Surviving also are 21 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, her mother, Marjorie Stapelman , one brother, Daniel (Kris) Stapelman, and four sisters, Leslie (Dale) Evans, Marjean (Louise) Johnson, Lois (Jeff) Wood and Janell Ahern. She is preceded in death by her husband Gary Jensen, son Kurt Jensen, father Lester Stapelman and a brother-in-law Wendell Ahern.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 21, 2013 11 a.m. at the Soda Springs LDS 4th Ward with Bishop Scott Gambles officiating (281 East Hooper Ave.). Friends may call on Friday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be at the Paul Cemetery in Paul, Idaho that afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
