Our dear Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Auntie, 78, passed February 4, 2013 at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield, Utah. She was born to Clair and Hannah Fowler in Grace, Idaho on December 4, 1934. She married Leonard B. Butcher in the Salt Lake Temple in August 1953.

JoAnne made friends with many wonderful people during her lifetime and she always’ talked about the people she knew and the places her and Leonard had been. She loved to spend time with Leonard and the family at their summer home at Bear Lake. She always cared and helped everyone she met. She was a very kind, generous and gentle woman. JoAnne loved rock hunting, painting and other crafts.

JoAnne lived in Ogden, St. George, Utah and Kemmerer Wyoming. She worked at Fowlers Market, Grand Central and Utah Power and Light.

She is survived by her son Michael Butcher, sister Joyce C. Nelson, sister-in-law Loreen Evans, 30 nieces and nephews, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, her parents Clair and Hannah Fowler, Sister Bonnie Green and her Aunt Rhea Poulter.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the mortuary.

Graveside services and interment will be held Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 1 p.m. in St. George, Utah at the Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 S. Dixie Dr.
