Karen Ann Roholt-Teipelke, 59, returned to her Heavenly Father at St. Alphonsus Hospital, Boise, Idaho surrounded by her family and friends on Sunday, September 23, 2012. She fought the good fight, and finished her course, always keeping the faith; much sooner than her family wanted her to, she succumbed to liver disease. She was born September 22, 1953 in Soda Springs, Idaho, the daughter of Verland and Helen Roholt. Karen married David Teipelke on July 3, 1999.
Karen was raised in Soda Springs, Idaho graduating from Soda Springs High School and Seminary in 1971. She attended Salt Lake Business School for a year then returned to Soda where she worked at the Trail Cafe. In 1978 she and her daughter Melissa moved to Boise, where she attended and graduated from Links School of Business. She worked for 30 years in the banking industry at US Bank and Key Bank, Boise, Idaho.
Karen is survived by her husband, David of Boise, ID; her children, Melissa (Tony) Baer of Orting, WA, and Jeremiah Stemen of Boise, ID; grandchildren, Trevor and Hanna of Orting, WA; mother, Helen Roholt of Soda Springs, ID; sisters, Christine Irving of Gainesville, FL, KaLynne (Brad) Dahle of Clarkston, UT, Kim (Jeff) Fetters of Soda Springs, ID; her sister not of blood, but of heart, Kathy Ward of Boise, ID, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Verland Roholt; grandparents, George and Anna Paskins, and Hans Jacob and Violet Roholt.
Karen was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Indian Lakes Ward, 3555 S. Cole Road in Boise, Idaho.
Another memorial service will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 2nd Ward Chapel, Soda Springs, Idaho. A greeting for family and friends will precede the services from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm.
On Saturday, October 6, 2012 after the service and a luncheon, her remains will be inurned close to her father in the Grace Cemetery, Grace, Idaho.
If desired, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Liver Foundation of any chapter.
