Clyde Arno Marx was born in Geneva on December 9, 1929 to Willy and Hulda Widmer Marx. He was the second born of five children. Clyde left this world on June 20, 2013 to be with his wife and best friend Merilyn.

In March of 1951 Clyde joined the army and was honorably discharged in 1956. He spent most of his enlisted time in Germany.

Clyde met Merilyn Jensen in 1955 and fell in love. They were married on October 14, 1955. Clyde and Merilyn were sealed together for time and all eternity on June 22, 1962. Their marriage was blessed with five children. Two boys Jeffrey and Paul, and three girls Martha, Nancy and Susan.

Clyde worked at Walton Feed Inc. for over 40 years. He made many runs around the valley delivering grain and spreading fertilizer around eastern Idaho and western Wyoming. During those 40 years he took two years off to work at Stauffer Mine. After he retired from Walton Feed Clyde couldn’t handle being idle so he started working for Farrel Price hammering nails. Clyde also worked as the janitor for the Senior Citizen center.
In his free time Clyde worked on the farm. For relaxation he drove the combine and would go to the mountains to get a load of wood. Clyde always loved driving the Senior Citizen bus to Jackpot. Not to gamble but to people watch. Lately he could be seen in Broulim’s parking lot, watching people and doing his circle a word.
Clyde is survived by his brother Delbert (Evelyn) Marx, sister Clara Marx, his children, Jeff (Charlotte) of Bloomington, Chole Marx of New Castle, Colorado, Martha (Ron) Joslin of White Bird, Idaho, Nancy of Montpelier and Susan (Zane) Wirth of Raymond, Idaho. He is also survived by many, many grandkids and great-grandkids.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, best friend Merilyn, son Paul, grandson Daniel Wirth, and brothers Grant and Earl.

Funeral services will be held in the Montpelier LDS 3rd Ward Chapel on Saturday, June 29 at noon. Friends may call prior to services from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
