Arvilla (Crane) Nelson, surrounded by family and friends, passed away after a hard fought battle with cancer on Saturday February 9th, 2013. Arvilla was born on March 18th, 1961 in Montpelier, ID. She was raised on the family farm in Bennington, ID where she had many great childhood memories including riding horses and being outdoors. She graduated from Bear Lake High School in 1979 and attended Rick’s College before returning home to marry her high school sweetheart. Early in life, Arvilla was raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and maintained a love for her Savior throughout her life.

Arvilla married Chad Nelson on April 17th, 1980. Together they had 4 children: Breanna (Seth) Luker, Cody (Beth) Nelson, Tyson (Cassi) Nelson & Trevor Nelson. She was a loving grandmother of 4 grandkids: Carter, Hayden & Peyton Luker and Tayt Nelson.

Arvilla is survived by her mother, Verdene (Crane) Ringel; sister Jackie (Curtis) Stucki; brother Kenon (Cheri) Crane and brother Jeffrey (Dannyel) Crane. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Crane; step-father Vernon Wells; brother Douglas Crane and sister-in-law Janel Nelson.

Arvilla loved riding her Harley Davidson with her husband Chad and her brothers & sisters of the POW MIA where she served on the board of directors for 2 years. She enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing & camping with her family. She loved her grandkids with all her heart and felt blessed to have them in her home the last few months of her life. Arvilla loved to laugh and maintained her awesome sense of humor even during the worst of times.

Arvilla’s abilities and passion for helping others brought joy to her life. She was a selfless person whose concern was always for others before herself. This led her into the medical field working as a CNA and later into Reflexology. She was always the first to help when someone was in need and generously donated her services.

On behalf of Arvilla, the family would like to extend special thanks to PMC, Access Hospice, Huntsman Cancer Center and all the friends and family who supported her throughout her battle.
