Paul Milton Thornock went to live with his heavenly Father Oct. 6, 2012. He was born April 11, 1924, in the small farming town of Bloomington, Idaho. He liked to tell the ladies that he went to school in Paris...Idaho. He was an excellent student and a champion wrestler even though he was the smallest on the team. He served in the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division Ski Patrol in World War II, winning an Expert Rifleman medal, European Combat medal, Good Conduct medal, and a Purple Heart. After the war, he married Marian Voorhees, had two daughters, went to Weber College, and graduated from Utah State University. He moved to Las Vegas in 1952, built homes and started his own construction company. He then married Joan Barnett and they had a son and daughter. Later he married Arlene Shaffer gaining more family with her children. Paul lived a great life. He visited all 50 states, traveled the world, spent countless hours bowling, playing poker and other sports. He loved coaching, watching any sport and went to thousands of games. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Lena Thornock; and his wife, Joan; sister, Lenore Pugmire; and brothers-in-law, James Pugmire and Louis Hammer. He is survived by his brother, Guy (Joy) Thornock; and sisters, Janet Hammer, Gay (Jay) Jensen, and Cheryl (Jim) Wilcox; his wife, Arlene and her family, Laine Shaffer, Nadine, Hunter and Hayden Pewitt, Carrie, Alyse, Maxine and Nicky Watson; his daughter, Carol "Charli" and her family, David Carter, Ronni, Mike, Devan, Riley, Aarron and Adan Council, and Jeremy, Marty, Ethan and Abbey Frew; his daughter, Colleen and her family, Harold and Dominick Atherton, Trisha, Craig, Davis, Dakota, Dylan and Drew Mooney, Lynette and Mike Stephenson, Nick, Dani, Zack and Taylor Henline and Charles McConkie; his son, Steve Thornock and his family, Joanna, Terry, Julianna, Jesse and Cody; his daughter, Dotty and her family, Jim Corbett, Krysta and Chase Nadeau. Viewing will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, with services following at noon, at LDS Church/Parkdale Ward, 4040 E Wyoming. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. at Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave
