Monty Eugene Moore, 42, departed this life Monday, February 27, 2017. \He was born September 6, 1974 in Springfield, Ohio.
He is the son of Cheryl Moore-Elliott and Van Neal, step-father Herbert Elliott.
He is a graduate of Springfield South High School.
After high school, Monty attended Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. After two years of college, Monty chose to serve his country, joining the United States Air Force (USAF) where he worked as a Bioenvironmental Engineer at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, DC.
After four years of service (1995-1999), he was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Senior Airman (E-4).

After separating from the USAF, Monty followed his family south to Atlanta. Continuing his commitment to education, he enrolled at Clark-Atlanta University in the fall of 2000, then earning a Bachelor’s Degree in History.
His quest for knowledge and professional development then drove him to earn a Master’s Degree in Business from The Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University.

Known for his strong work ethic, Monty applied his knowledge and skills working for The Center for Disease Control and the US Department of Veterans Affairs as a Facilities Manager.

Always a kind, supportive friend, brother, father and son, Monty was ready and willing to lend an ear to listen and a hand to help.

Monty was a devoted father to his son Cameron.
Those who remain to carry on his legacy are his son Cameron Moore; his parents Cheryl Moore-Elliott, Step-father Herbert Elliott, and Van Neal; siblings Herbert Elliott, IV, Michael M. Elliott, and Isahia L. Elliott; special aunt and uncles Pamela and Caesar Chilton, Kelly and Eric Gray, grandparents Lloyd and Kathline Moore, several nieces, nephews, a host of cousins, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grand-mother Barbara Trimble-Neal,grandfather George Milton Neal, great-aunt Jean Norris, great-uncle Chilos Norris, Sr. and Uncle Chilos Norris, Jr.

Funeral: Saturday, March 11, 2017, 11AM at St. Philip AME Church, 240 Candler Rd., Atlanta, GA., Interment : Georgia National Cemetery - 2025 Mount Carmel Church Ln
