There is an iron marker for him in the Mt Olive Cemetery in Cusetta, Chattahouchee Co, Ga. Susan and her children are there on the 1870 census of that county living in the household of her parents Carter Isaiah WILLIS and Eveline Wilkerson. The next household is Wm. M Willis and wife Margaret Louisa Parkman and their two sons. Also is household for Cater Willis Jr. and wife Mary Rebecca Dean and their child Emory Isaiah a baby. These brother also were in the CSA in different units. George G. Willis was killed at Resaca. Wm. M. Willis moved first to Tallapoosa Co Al and then to Sidney, Comanche Co, Tx. Carter and his family moved to Sabine and Shelby Co in Tx 1870. Many letters of Edmond Hardy JONES, this husband and father are published on the Olustee, Fl web site mentioning her brothers George and 'Buddy' ('Bill', Wm M.) and Carter Isaiah Willis Jr. I descend from Carter. Would like very much to hear from the descendants of Edmond H. Jones and Susan Jane WILLIS. I have pictures of the children taken ca 1870 and also a tin type of Georgia Jones could be sister or mother of Edmond H Jones. Will gladly share the information I have of this family. Please email.
