YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Services will be Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at the Antioch Baptist Church for Mrs. Johnnie Mae Anderson, 78, who departed this life on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mrs. Anderson was born May 24, 1936, in Georgetown, Georgia, (Quitman County) a daughter of John L. and Pinkey Holley Sutton.
She was a charter member of the Antioch Baptist Church, with over 50 years of service.
Johnnie was past president of the No. 2 Usher Board.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She had great love for all that knew her.
Johnnie Mae was united in marriage on June 15, 1957, to Jessie Anderson. He preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 2005.
She leaves to cherish her beloved memory, three sons, Maurice Sutton of Atlanta, Georgia; Willie D. (Belinda) Anderson and Thurman (Brenda) Anderson; one daughter, Lisa R. (Ivory) Patterson, all of Youngstown, Ohio; her one and only brother, William James Sutton of Clinton, Md.; one sister-in-law, Elma Vincent of Anniston, Alabama; a host of cousins in Miami and Albany, Ga.; and nieces, nephews, and friends, who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jessie Anderson Jr.; and four sisters, Emma L. Scott, Annie Mae Casey, Jean McKinney and Rosie B. Sutton.
Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
