Thanks for these responses. In fact I've searched the Wilmington Diocese sacramental records. And I do believe I am related to the John Keating mentioned; however, I can not find the proof. I am looking for Louis Hugh Keating & Anne Augnot (or Anne Auguste). Their son came (Louis Hugh Jr) to Louisiana and he said his parents were of "Newark", in a later record it said they lived in Virginia. I know alot of these French actually went back to France. Perhaps Louis Hugh Jr's parents did so when he came to Louisiana?

I did not find them on any census searching all states in 1790 or 1800 or 1810. Perhaps the spelling is so off for the surname. But I also searched for all Louis/Lewis and all Hughs and all Annes/Anns. I read somewhere about a Fr. Cibot who came from St-Domingue with some of these refugees. I am also wondering if there is any passenger lists of them some place since Wilmington was considered a port city??

Thanks for all response
