Good Day,

I'm interested to contact anyone else researching the following family:

William B. Clark(e), b. @1815, CT, died 1865, North Carolina, from wounds?, during Civil War, may be buried in Milford, CT.

Married Elizabeth Rebecca Ann (UNSURE), just before 1850, and probably in New Haven, or thereabouts. She was born in December 1831, if the 1900 US Census is correct.

Their Children (at least some):

1) Minetta "Nettie" A. Clark, b. @1850, CT, later married a William R. Hughes, and had children in East Haven.

2) Merritt F. Clark, b. @1853, CT

3) Willard L. Clark, b. @1855, CT

4) Frederic(k) Clark, b. @1858, CT

5) Julia Clark, b. @1859, CT

6) Chauncey/Chancey (C. or W.) Clark, b. @1864, CT

After William died, Elizabeth married 2nd to a Mr. Rice, who apparently died before 1880 Census. I've not been able to find her as RICE or CLARK(E) in 1870 Census, but her children were "scattered" during that year, finding homes with many different families:

1) Minetta was married by 1870 to William Hughes
2) Merritt was living with the Charles Austin family in Woodbridge.
3) Could not find Willard in 1870, perhaps listed as Will, or Willie/Willy, or even William.
4) Frederick was living with teh John Lounsbury family in Orford as a "farm boy"
5) Julia MIGHT have been the one listed with the Charles (Chas.) L. Sherman family in Danbury, but that seems a bit extreme.
6) Chauncey found with the Francis Farren family in Woodbridge.

Since Elizabeth is listed as 8/5 in 1900, perhaps Willard had died prior to 1870? Hard to say. I can not account for the other two children who may well have died young.

Any help with this family, especially the origins of William B., b. @1815, and information, if known, about Elizabeth's 2nd husband, Mr. Rice would be greatly appreciated.
