The Sloans moved again the next year to Liberal, Missouri where they resided until Mary was 14. They moved to Sheridan Lake that year for a three year stay. She was 17 when the family moved back to Liberal, where she met and married Earl Comstock. At the age of 20, Mary met Lloyd Wiebers in Sheridan Lake. They were married March 15, 1930 in Holyoke. They homesteaded in the Rockland community. All of Mary's twelve children attended Rockland and New Haven elementary schools and Fleming High School, except for Jim who attended Otis High School.

In 1963, Mary and Lloyd moved to Otis, where she resided until she moved to a nursing home in Yuma in early 1998. Mrs. Wiebers drove a school bus for 20 years in the Rockland and New Haven communities. She was instrumental in organizing and leading the Rock Haven 4-H club for 15 years. During this time she also served on the Logan County 4-H board.

Mary is survived by her sons, Jimmie Wiebers, Otis, Gate Wiebers, Yuma, and Donald "Buz" Wiebers, Owanka, South Dakota; her daughters, Donna Franks, Independence, Missouri, Elaine Reed, Fleming, Betty Parsons, Wheat Ridge, Rose Sloan, Commerce City, Helen Wilson, Yuma, and Icel Choplin, Independence, Missouri; a sister, Laura Young, Gresham, Oregon; 30 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Wiebers; and sons, Leo Wiebers, Dale Wiebers and Fred Comstock.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 5, 1999, at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home, Sterling, with Pastor Jack Boggs officiating. Celebration of Life was April 5, at 1 p.m. at the Lutheran Church, Otis, with Pastor Robert Miller officiating. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling.
