I met Bert and Tennie Burchett when I was a young girl visiting their home in Colorado.I was with my grandmother Lucille Yandell (Bert's daughter and Tennie's step-daughter.) I remember Tennie as a small elderly lady who would use her tea bag several times until the water in her cup was almost clear. She was a very sweet lady and made my sister and I feel very welcome in her home.
Lucille Burchett married my grandfather Iven Edward Yandell. Iven's first wife Gladys Irene Holloway died in 1938 leaving Iven with two young boys, Glenn LaMonte and Norville Iven. There was also a daughter, Ethel Maxine born to Gladys and Iven who died in 1930. Lucille never had any children of her own but was an amazing mother and grandmother to my dad, Glenn and his five children.
