History of Sutter County, California
Thompson & West, 1879
BLOYD, L. J., farmer; P.O. Yuba City; was born in Hancock county, Illinois, in 1845, where he lived until 16 years of age; he came to California in 1861, being 5 month crossing the plains; he lived one year at Red Bluff, and settled in this county in 1862, where he has been engaged in farming; he owns 160 acres. Mr. B. was married in 1865 to Miss Amanda Longcor, a native of Illinois; they have six children - two boys and four girls.

The above sketch is of Levi Jefferson Bloyd the son of Emerson/Emberson Bloyd and Charity Bloyd, assumed to be first cousins. This Charity Bloyd was the d/o Levi Bloyd and Barbara Winn.

Levi'Jefferson' Bloyd and his wife Amanda had a daughter Rose born abt 1867. This Rose Bloyd marr to Joseph Edward Anderson in Redbluff, Tehama CO, CA on Feb 27, 1886.
All of these families 'end up' in Tulare CO, CA.

I am researching the Anderson group and would like to know if anyone on this message board knows about my Joseph Edward Anderson who married to Rose Bloyd. I know that they had a daughter Leonora who was born in Tehama CO on Dec 1886. I am trying to figure out when Joseph E. Anderson arrived in northern CA, and how he met up with Rose (of Sutter CO) I show him last of Montgomery CO, MO in the 1870 census; can not find in 1880 census. I am also wondering if any of his siblings came with him to this area of California.

All leads appreciated.

Thank you,
Debra Anderson
