I spent about a month at the E B West girl's school, before it was a girl's school. It was the Arlington Army Reception Center, starting about 1942, but closed after WWII ended and ownership went to Mrs. West.
I remember the place as a "mud hole." It rained a lot the winter weeks of 1942-43 I was there, and none of the streets were paved yet. From Arlington, the guys were shipped out to various basic training camps. I was sent to the Nashville, TN, Classification Center.
