R. Gene Lucas
R. Gene Lucas, 55, did unexpectedly Feb. 23 at Queen of the Valley Hospital.
A native of Rensseiear, Ind., Mr. Lucas was born Sept. 6, 1937, to Luther and Ella B. (St. Pierre)Lucas. He traveled throughout the world because his father was in the U.S. Air Force and he graduated from high school in Germany.
Upon completing his college education, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam. He obtained the rank of major upon his discharge.
Mr. Lucas settled in West Sacramento and ventured into several fields for the next 15 years which included real estate sales and restaurant management.
Hem moved to Yountville in 1991.
Mr. Lucas was a member of Scepter Lodge NO. 808 F.&A.M. of West Sacramento and the East Yolo Lions Club.
He enjoyed reading, writing, skiing and stained glass work.
Mr. Lucas is survived by his daughter,Pamela Robertson of Tindell Air Force Base, Florida, and four granddaughters.
At the request of the deceased, no service will be held and inurnment will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Richard Pierce Funeral Service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Chapel Fund, in care of the Veterans Home of California, Yountville, 94599.
