Betty Braun of Ely died on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004. She was 81.
Mrs. Braun was born in Bismarck, N.D., on Feb. 7, 1923, to Bernard and Otilla (Martin) Goldader.She was a homemaker who had lived in this area since moving here from Ellensburg, Wash., in 1956. Mrs. Braun was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Our Lady of Snows Guild.
Her pastimes included cooking, catering, canning and Bingo.
Mrs. Braun is survived by a son, Anthony Braun of Winnemucca; eight daughters: Margie (Bob) Welch of Reno, Marcella (Ray) McDonald of Jamesville, Fla., Karen (Ned) McCrory of Jackson, Calif., Sharie (Charlie) Martin of Billings, Mont., Darlene (Dale) Haslem of Lund, Beverly (Dan) Bliss of Ruth, Janice McShane of Ely and Teresa (Allen) Wise of Ely; 27 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
Survivors also include two brothers: Thomas Goldader of Bremerton, Wash., and Val Goldader of Troutdale, Ore.; and a close freind, Mary Arnold of Ely.
She was preceded in death by her husband Martin Braun, parents, six sisters, two brothers and four grandchildren.
A rosary service was scheduled at Mountain Vista Chapel on Thursday evening, Sept. 16. The Mass of Christian Burial was to be celebrated by Father Caesar Caviglia at Sacred Heart Church at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18. Burial was to follow at the Ely City Cemetery.
The list of pallbearers includes Bob Welch, Ray McDonald, Dan Bliss, Ned McCrory, Allan Wise, Dale Haslem and Robert McShane, Jr. Harlan Arnold, Leonard Schaefer, Jerry Rockstead, Del White and all of her grandsons were asked to serve as honorary pallbearers.

Martin F. Braun died Wednesday, June 16, 2004. He was 84. He was born to Franc and Marcella (Goetz) Braun in Bismark, N.D., on Nov. 19, 1919.
Mr. Braun worked as a heavy equipment operator for Kennecott Copper Co. for 18 years, before retiring in 1980.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and in the Knights of Columbus Council 1340.
In his spare time, Mr. Braun, enjoyed gardening, bird watching, boxing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Ely; a son, Anthony Braun of Ely; eight daughters: Margie (Bob) Welch of Reno, Marcella (Ray) McDonald of Gainesville, Fla., Karen (Ned) McCrory of Jackson, Calif., Sharie (Charlie) Martin of Billings, Mont., Darlene (Dale) Haslem of Lund, Beverly (Dan) Bliss of Ruth, Janice McShane and Teresa (Allan) Wise of Ely; 27 Grand children and 20 Great Grand children; two brothers: Jack Braun of Bismark, and Clem Braun of Grand Cooulee, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Braun is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, five brothers and four grandchildren.
A rosary service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 22, at Mountain Vista Chapel at 7 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial is to be celebrated on Wednesday, June 23 ,at Sacred Heart Church, at 11 a.m., by Father Caesar Caviglia.
Listed among the pallbears: Robert Welch, Ray McDonald, Dan Bliss, Ned McCrory, Charlie Martin, Allan Wise, Dale Haslem and Robert McShane Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be: all of Mr. Brauns' grandsons, Harland Arnold, Leonard Schafer, John Mariani, Warren Krch and Jerry Rochstead.
Burial will be at the Ely City Cemetery.
