Surnames: Brown-Lyles
Looking for anyone connected to, or researching the Brown or Lyle/Lyles families found living in Cane Hill, Washington Co., AR., census together in 1870.

E.Brown 61 female
E.H. 25 female
J.D 20 female
Lyles, John 14 male
Lyles, R.D. 12 male
Brown, E.W. 65 male NC
Lyle, Wm. 45 male NC
Lyle, Ethelery 30 female NC
Lyle, E. 1 female AL

The male shown as E.W. Brown was living in Fayette Co, AL., in 1860 with his family: Elizabeth 51, and two daughters' Lusa A. 22 and Lucinda J. (married and widowed or divorced by this time to a Thompson), along with Lucinda's children by Thompson husband.

This family of E.W. Brown was in Wake Co., NC., in 1850 as follows:
Western Division
Brown, E.W. 44 male NC
E. 42 female NC
A. 16 female NC
P.H. 16 female NC*her name was Paulina H. and she married Almon T. Lyles in Wake Co., NC., on 15 May, 1856.
L.A. 13 female NC *this is Lusa A., in the home in AL. in 1860.
L.J. 12 female NC. *this is Lucinda J. (Thompson) in 1860.
E. 10 female NC
E.V.(or B.) . 8 female NC
A. 7 female NC
Me L. D. 5 female NC
J.D 2 female NC

The two boys, John and R.D. (Randolph) Lyles living with E.W. Brown in Washington Co., AR., in 1870 were the sons of E.W. Brown's daughter, Paulina H. Brown-Lyles and her husband, Almon T. Lyles. They were living in Marion Co, AR., in 1860.
Paulina H. Brown-Lyles died in Marion Co., in 1865 and is buried at the Talburt-Casey cemetery there. Her headstone says she was the wife of A.T. Lyles and daughter of E.W. Brown.

I believe her husband, Almon T. Lyles remarried after Paulina died, to a widowed neighbor woman named Cynthia Hurst who had one daughter by her 1st marriage, Sarah Frances Hurst.
I have been unable to find Almon T. or Cynthia anywhere in 1870 or 1880.

However, in 1900, Cynthia (Lyles), now widowed again, appears on the census in Baxter Co., AR. In her home is Eliza Lyles-Farley, shown to be her daughter, age 26 (b.1873) and widowed herself. Eliza Lyles had married to J.W. Farley in Baxter Co., AR., in 1892.
Next door to them in 1900 is Thomas Lee Lyles, born in 1869, and it appears he was also a son of Cynthia's and her "Lyles" husband, whom I believe was Almon T. Lyles.
The census indicates that both Thomas Lee and Eliza Lyles were born in AR.
Thomas Lee Lyles married Celia Florence Eddings in Baxter Co., AR., in 1892 and he "Lee Lyles" was also the security on the marriage of his presumed sister, "Eliza" when she married J.W. Farley.

Thomas Lee Lyles and wife Celia Florence, had two known children: Earnest L. Lyles, born Sept. 1893, and Nora, born bwt. 1906-1908.
They last appeared on the Baxter Co., AR. census in 1910, however, E.L. (Ernest) Lyles, the son, married in Baxter Co., AR., in 1913 to Hannah Brown. (wonder if she is connected to the Brown family of Paulina's?).

Would like to find anyone researching any of these families.
