Clarence Williams, 71, of Salem died Sunday. Cause of death was unavailable. (MARION CO.)
Born in Winslow,(WASHINGTON CO.) Ark., he served in the Navy from 1947-50. He was a pastor for 50 years at 13 churches in Arkansas, Texas, Kansas and Oregon. In 1964, he moved to Oregon from Texas and later to Arkansas. In 1987, he moved to Salem, where he served as pastor for Fellowship Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Janice (Phillips), whom he married in 1942; daughters, Debbie Smith and Tammy Friesen, both of Salem; son, Randy of Salem; sisters, Maxine Center of Herlong, Calif., and Bonnie Harrison of Wichita, Kan.; brothers, Richard of Ridgefield, Wash., and Ernest of Coos Bay; and three grandchildren.
Visiting will be noon to 7 p.m. Thursday at Restlawn Funeral Home. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Missionary Baptist Church, Oregon City.
