Rheola Sampson, 92, of Salem (MARION CO.) died Thursday. Born in Ozan,(HEMPSTEAD CO.) Ark., she graduated from Walker High School and moved to El Mirage, Ariz., in 1951 and Salem in 1965. She was a Jehovahs Witness and enjoyed quilting, traveling, jigsaw puzzles, bingo and fishing. She married Lee in 1929; he died in 1965. A daughter and son also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Harl of Farmington, N.M., Randy of Portland, and Marzell, Elray, Valgene and William, all of Salem; daughters, Brenda Valentine of Reno, Nev., Carylon Zulgrnaian of Tacoma, Wash., and Verdie Cheathem, Claudia Thompson, Wilma Winters and Olivia Sampson, all of Salem; 52 grandchildren; 100 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Visiting will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, all at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Kingdon Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses and 3 p.m. at City View Cemetery. Contributions: Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 1555 Hoffman Road NE, Salem, OR 97301.
