Amos Dougherty moved to Cleburne County in the late 1880s or early 1890s and owned or operated at least two different hotels in Sugar Loaf / Heber Springs, the Central and Frauenthal, in the early 1890's. He was enumerated in both the 1900 and 1910 Cleburne County censuses, listed as widowed, although his wife was residing in a separate house in 1900, also listed as widowed. Since I cannot find him in the 1920 census, at which time he would have been 90, I am assuming that he died between 1910-1920. There is no entry for him on Find-a-Grave, and although I have a subscription to Genealogy Bank, the Heber Springs newspaper at that site is only available through 1894. I also found a Goodspeed article about him, but it was apparently written while he was still living in Phillips County. Amos is not in my direct line, but I would like to know when and where he died. Are there obituary records available locally?
