I am searching for Goenett family members as well as any members of the subject surnames. My relation to these people is that my grandmother (deceased) is Rose Margaret Stringer (nee Goenett). She has siblings named Joyce, Eileen, Martin, Ben, and possibly James. Her parents were named James and Josephine Goenett (nee Clarke or Clark). Josephine's parent's surnames were Martin (maternal) and Clark(e) (paternal). James' parents names were James and Mary Pigg, and I understand that they passed away from tuberculosis and that James Goenett was adopted by the Goenett family. There is some confusion as to whether the Lundy family comes into play as adoptive parents, changed surname, or original family name, but somehow, all sides agree that "Lundy" was part of our history. There is also the unconfirmed story of "Chilkat Paddy" whom we believe is "James Pigg." We've been told (by who, I do not know) that Mr. Pigg helped the Chilkat/Tlingit Indians cross Chilkat Pass, but I am skeptical about whether this was James or another ancestor due to the timeline and history or Chilkat Pass and Mr. Pigg's lifespan. In any case, anybody willing to share information about any persons listed above would be extremely helpful in my quest to find my lineage. As my family has been living away from Alaska, and become more diluted, I have not been privvy to the names of my Tlingit ancestors and I am looking to fill in the gaps.
