I came accross an article in the " Heritage Of Tuscaloosa County " book that I have.I don't know if it will help but am going to post it here for all those who might find some answers from it.

Savage History
Zebulon Savage Jr.was born January 4,1779 Rockingham,North Carolina,died November 15,1862 Tuscaloosa County,Alabama. He married Rebecca Cox,born May 30,1780 Newberry County,South Carolina,died January 19,1835, buried Bethleham Methodist Cemetery,Laurens,South Carolina,daughter of Allen Cox,wife unknown.Zebulon is shown receiving 60 pounds of Rebecca's share of her fathers estate January 31,1799, in Newberry County,South Carolina.He served in the War of 1812 in Tuckers Regiment,South Carolina Militia. His family was on the cenus of Laurens County 1800-1840.Childern of Zebulon and Rebecca were:1.) William S.1799-1837,buried Bethleham Methodist,Laurens,married Lucinda. 2.) Westley 1801-1859,married Susan Glover b.1810 South Carolina, died before his estate settled 1859 in Tuscaloosa. 3.) Elizabeth, b.1803, died before 1850,married Beverly Shirley. 4.) Sarah A. b.1805, died 1860 Tuscaloosa County,married Jonathon Shirley. 5.) Rebecca b.1807,married circa 1828, Lorenzo Don McPherson. 6.) Wiley b.1809, married Baskaline. 7.) Mary b.1814, married about 1832 William Golden. 8.) Virginia H. b.1816, married Henry Ivey. 9.) Sterling T. b. 1818,married Catherine Strickland. 10.) James Deaton b. 1822,d.1866, married Sarah. 11.) Pendleton b. 1822,d.before 1880,married Chelli Ann Thompson.
Zebulon married a second time about 1839 Laurens County,South Carolina, Eliabeth Pinson, b. 1804,d. Tuscaloosa County,Alabama 1889,buried with Zebulon at Sandy Springs Cemetery Tuscaloosa County. Childern of this union were: 1.) Lucy b.1839 South Carolina. 2.) Dianna b.1840 South Carolina, d.1932, married Washington D. Deason. 3.) Catherine b.1843 tuscaloosa County,Alabama, d.1889, married John T. Doughty. 4.) Emma Elizabeth b.1844 Tuscaloosa,Alabama.( Will made in Tuscaloosa County November 15,1862 by Zebulon, named his wife Elizabeth and all his childern.)
Zebulon Jr. was the son of Zebulon Sr. and wife Sarah O.,who sold land in Orange County,North Carolina 1774, land deeded to him by his parents William and Elizabeth in 1771. In 1784 he was on the records of Rockingham County,North Carolina. Elizabeth, mother of Zebulon Sr.,sold 150 acres on Hogans Creek in 1787 to Edward Taylor for 50 pounds. In 1789, Eliabeth stated " I Elizabeth Savage,widow of William Savage Sr. hath sold my thirds share of the 100 acre tract ' sold by zebulon Savage to John Savage for 30 pounds.Tract formerly granted to Robert Jones and sold to William Savage Sr. This family left Rockingham County about this time, as Zebulon is shown on land records in Laurens County, South Carolina on the Saluda River in 1789.
Wesley Savage b.1801 South Carolina,d.about 1859 Tuscaloosa County, married about 1824 South Carolina Susan Glover,b.1810 South Carolina,d.before 1859 Tuscaloosa County, daughter of James and Elizabeth Glover whose estate records are in Laurens County,South Carolina.Childern of this union were: 1.) Morris William b.1825 south Carolina,d. befor 1900 Baxter County, Arkansas, married Margaret Shirley b. about 1825,d. 1880 Baxter County,Arkansas,parents unknown. 2.) James William b.1830 South Carolina. 3.) John F. b. 1832 South Carolina. 4.) Randall b.1833 South Carolina. 5.) Julius b.1838 South Carolina. 6.) William b.1844 South Carolina. 7.) Martha married Berry Shirley. 8.) Heffie married John Styers. 9.) Rebecca married Pleasent Styers.( records of the estate of Wesley Savage 1859 Tuscaloosa County,Alabama ). Morris William Savage born 1825 and Margaret Shirley had children 1.) James Winn b.July 23,1844 Tuscaloosa County,d.September 17,1912 Walker County,Alabama, married Martha Jane Smallwood b.May 1845,d.September 27,1915, daughter of Washington Smallwood and Martha " Polly " Earnest. 2.) Louisa Jane b.July 23,1844 ( twin ) married Benjamine Gillentine. 3.) Susan Elizabeth Ann b.September 27,1847,married Sampson Mogul Jackson. 4.) Mary E. b.1850 married William Ballard. 5.) William V. b.1852 married Elizabeth. 6.) Joel Zebedee b. 1854 married Clarrifer P. Jackson. 7.) Nancy Catherine b. 1855 married James W. Knight. 8.)Martha b. 1858. 9.) J.Walter b. 1859. 10.) Julia D. b. 1861 married James Monroe Jones. 11.) Eli W. b. 1862. 12.) Edwin W. b. 1864. After the Civil War Morris and most of his family moved to Baxter County,Arkansas.James Winn Savage and wife Martha Jane Smallwood moved to Walker County,Alabama.These were the parents of Addaline Savage who married James Marion Cobb of Walker County.It is believed that this lineage goes back to Ensign Thomas Savage who came as a cabin boy on the ship " John and Frances " to Virginia's eastern shore in 1607 age 13 years old, was traded to Chief Powhatan for an indian, and remained with the indians for several years and learned their language.He was given the land now know as Savages Neck, in Accomack County,Virginia, by Chief Powhatan,where he was shown on the 1623 census, as
"Ancient ( Ensign ) Thomas Savage ". He died before 1635 leaving one son John whose descendants are named in wills of Northampton County,Virginia ( formerly Accomack)
