YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at the New Hope Baptist Church for Mrs. Judy E. Jefferson Beck, 65, who departed this life on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Hospice of the Valley in Youngstown, Ohio.

Mrs. Beck was born Nov. 19, 1947, in Bay Minette, Alabama, a daughter of Henry C. and Mary E. Cox Jefferson.

Judy moved to Youngstown as a child, where she graduated from East High School in 1966.

Upon graduating from high school, she worked at Ohio Bell, and then went to school to be a legal assistant, was a head cashier at King’s Department Store, and worked for the Ohio Turnpike Commission.
She also worked at Perkins for several years, worked at Sparkles Grocery Store, and worked at Metropolitan Housing with the Senior Employment Program.
In her spare time, she volunteered at the Internet Café. Judy was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board. She was also a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Mack A. Beck Sr., whom she married Nov. 16, 1994; a daughter, Kimberly M. Williams of Youngstown; three grandchildren, JaQualia (Allen) Leonard of Pataskala, Ohio whom she helped rear, Kimberly Heath of Youngstown and Johnny Heath Jr. of Columbus, OH; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Roy Heath of Columbus, Armauni O. Richardson of Youngstown and Allan B. Leonard III of Pataskala; a host of extended grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Christine Love of Orlando, Fla. and Deborah (Eldridge) Whetstone of Los Angeles; a sister- in-law, Velda Jefferson of Lawton, Oklahoma; three brothers, Bobby W. (Blanche) Jefferson Sr., Kenneth Jefferson, both of Youngstown and George (Diane) Jefferson Sr. of Arlington, Texas; a host of nieces and nephews including special nieces, Maxine Jefferson, Nicole Wright and Christine Smith, and nephews, James M. Jefferson, Bobby W. Jefferson Jr. and Anthony Wright

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry C. and Mary E. Jefferson; three sisters, Ella Marie Foster, Maxine Wright and Linda Pruitt; four brothers, Henry C. Jefferson Jr., Marion Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson and James Jefferson; two nieces, Jessie Jefferson and Veronica Jefferson; and three nephews, Jeffery Foster, Kenneth Armour and Marcus Wright.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
