Luigi Gerardi, founded pizzeria
BOUND BROOK - Luigi Gerardi, 68, died Monday (Oct. 4, 1993) at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City. Born in Avellino, Italy, he moved to Brooklyn, N. Y., 40 years ago. He lived in Raritan before moving to Bound Brook 18 years ago. Mr. Gerardi founded and was the former owner and operator of LaR-osa Pizzeria in Metuchen, retiring in 1988. He had been in the pizzeria business for 35 years. While in Italy, he worked for the military and state police forces in Naples for several years. Surviving are his wife, Adriana Ianniello Gerardi; two daughters, Olympia Keane of South Plainfield and Filomena Inghilterra of Basking Ridge; his son, Carmine of Piscataway; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Bongiovi Funeral Home in Raritan Borough followed by a 9 a m. Mass at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Raritan Borough. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 tonight and Wednesday at the funeral home.
