You may be placing too much significance on the 1908 immigration date. I've seen many errors on the immigration year in census records.
There is a Stanislaw Maluchnik who arrived 10/10/1911 who fits well in terms of age and origin. He's listed as being from Krokowa (Krakow), and there's an Antoni Maluchnik arriving earlier the same year from Rudno, which may refer to a town just outside of Krakow. Although he's too old to be Stanislaw's brother, perhaps he's his father.
