I am searching for any information relating to the DE LA CRUZ and ALDERETE families from the Melchor Muzquiz area of Coahuila. My great-grandfather was named Pantaleon DE LA CRUZ and he was married to Maria Del Socorro ALDERETE. Maria was born in 1888. I don't know Pantaleon's birthdate, although I believe they were appoximately the same age. Pantaleon's father was Reyes DE LA CRUZ. Pantaleon's mother's maiden name was Cruz ALCOSER. Maria Del Socorro's father was Susano ALDERETE, and her mother's maiden name was Juana CORONA. Pantaleon and Maria Del Socorro lived on a ranch in el Remolino,Mexico. I think the ranch/hacienda was called Santa Anita. Pantaleon and Socorro had four children, Antonio, Santos, Susano (who was my grandfather who actually changed his name to Chano ALDERETE), and Juan. Antonio died as an infant and Santos was killed with his mother Socorro at age 2 and a half in an explosion on April 6, 1920. Susano/Chano went to live with his maternal grandparents, Susano and Juana, and that is why he took on the ALDERETE name. Juan remained with his father (I think) and eventually moved to Uvalde, Texas where he remained until his death in Feb 1981. Susano/Chano eventually moved to San Jose, California where he remained until his death on March 10, 1974. If anyone can help me with any part of my research, it would be greatly appreciated. I have pretty much hit a road block in my research and am therefore actively seeking help!!!! Thanks in advance.
