Most definitely the site was referred to as 'Dawson City" by all the placer miners. My own great-granduncles (Patrick A and Peter E Boyce) were lucky to be two of only a few who made good on their gold claims. They, both, reinvested their hard-earned money into real estate in Snohomish and Monroe, Washington. Additionally, Patrick A Boyce was a railroad man going way back, and the railroad built two lines across his lands. Naturally, the railroads paid a handsome number to Patrick A Boyce for adequate egress across his properties, however, the vast majority of his earning came for the Dawson City claim's office.
