Most emigrants coming to Canada came by way of New York. Before 1855, there was no immigrant processing centre. The shipping company presented a passenger list to the Collector of Customs, and the immigrants made whatever Customs declaration was necessary and went on their way. Most immigrating to Canada made their way by the Erie Canal to Oswego N.Y. (NE of Buffalo on Lake Ontario), on towboats and canal boats. The distance between Albany and Oswego was performed in one canal boat. At Oswego, an emigrant met a steamboat for Hamilton or for Toronto to Hamilton & ultimately by train.
Conrad Reinwald owned 1 acre of land at Concession 8, Lot 18 North Easthope Twp, Perth Co from 1865 to 1869.
He also owned SW 10 acres at Concession 11, Lot 19 (2148 Line 47) from 1870 to 1878.
There is a Conrad & Elizabeth Reinwald buried in Saint James Lutheran Cemetery, North Easthope Twp, Perth Co, but that's all I can find.
