I’m looking for assistance to locate land my grandfather previously owned in the Kenora area. His name was Frank Oscar Gustafson (aka Franz Oskar Gustafson). My specific question is the location and amount of the land he owned as well as did this land subsequently become desirable property. He lived in Minnesota but worked for a construction company building the Canadian Pacific Railroad. I believe he worked in Canada from 1908 or possibly earlier thru 1914, so I suspect he purchased the land about that time. He never lived on this land. Years later during the depression in the 1930's after Frank died, his wife Ida understandably let the land go for back-taxes. Also, we were only told that he owned land in the “Kenora area”, so we don’t know if it might have actually been in nearby Manitoba. I will consider a reasonable reimbursement for your time and effort.
